Expedition Chesapeake provides a series of educational experiences in structured learning units that will engage students in the exploration and analysis of the vitality of the Chesapeake Bay watershed.

Parents

It is important for students to have real-life, hands-on experiences from which to learn as it provides a context for them to make sense of the world around them. While science knowledge can be memorized, the concepts are clarified and retained through personal experiences. More for parents.

Expedition Chesapeake is a great idea for science teachers throughout the watershed as it provides opportunities for students to explore what is occurring in their area of the watershed through hands-on, minds-on experiences. More for teachers.

Jeff Corwin's Education Credentials

Jeff Corwin has bachelor of science degrees in biology and anthropology from Bridgewater State College, and a master of science degree in wildlife and fisheries conservation from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. In 1999, Bridgewater State College honored Jeff with a doctorate in public education for his work in communicating about the need for a sustainable approach to using natural resources and the importance of conserving endangered species. Jeff firmly believes that through education and awareness, the natural resources, wildlife and ecosystems that make up our planet will be conserved for future generations.

Corwin is the author of 11 books including "100 Heartbeats: The Race to Save Earth's Most Endangered Species" and "Living on the Edge: The Amazing Relationships in the Natural World." He is the wildlife and science expert for NBC/MSNBC and has served as a resource for numerous media outlets.
